タイトルは『日出ずる国』
これまでパステル画材を使って描く題材は、マンダラ以外ありませんでした
描くことが本当に好きで、どんな時でもキャンバスや台紙に向かうと夢中になって時を忘れる
趣味というよりは、ライフワークなのかもしれません
社会人になって一時期、仕事が多忙で筆を持たない時期があったり子育て中は自分のために時間を使うという事が難しかった、、
とはいえ、学生時代は美術部だったので、そう考えるとかれこれ35年以上経ちました
そして、この絵を描くきっかけになった出来事が起きました
ずっと自分のために描いてきたのでしたが、40代前半で葬儀社を退社したり、曼荼羅ワークを教えるにあたって、ある日近所の氏神さまへご挨拶に行きました
（これから曼荼羅ワークを教えると思いますが
正直感情表現が苦手ですし
言葉にして上手に説明するというのも苦手です
大丈夫かどうか分かりません
自信もないけど
でも、やると決めたので応援お願いします）
と手を合わせて祈って
ふと目を開けると
閉まっていた拝殿の扉から
光でできた手裏剣がジグザグに飛んできて
わたしの眉間にグサっ！と入ってきたのです
その瞬間
猛烈な言葉で表現できないエネルギーが
身体中に駆け巡って
今まで描いた事のない
でも描かなくてはいけないという図柄が
脳裏に浮かび
慌てて帰宅してすぐさま描いた絵が
この図案です
あれから６年
ずっとタイトルはありませんでしたが
今回『宇宙とマンダラの部屋２』個展をやるにあたってポストカードにしたのをきっかけに
タイトルをつけました
わたし達は、ある一定の期間、精神がおさまる神殿として肉体を体験し、ほんの束の間この地球生活を経験したあとには、またエネルギーとして壮大な宇宙へ還っていきます
同じこの時期
この日本という土地に生を受け
ご縁をいただいて
この文章を読んでくださり
ありがとうございます
この壮大な宇宙の中心から産まれ来るエネルギー
何があってもいつもあなた自身の中心へ
戻ってきますように

This is a postcard painted in pastels.
The title is 'Land of the Rising Sun'.
Until now, mandalas were the only subjects I'd ever painted using pastel materials.
I truly love painting. Whenever I sit down at my canvas or paper, I become completely absorbed and lose track of time.
It's less a hobby and more a life's work.
After entering the workforce, there was a period when work was so busy I didn't pick up a brush. During child-rearing, finding time for myself was difficult...
Still, I was in the art club during my student days, so thinking about it, it's been over 35 years now.
Then, an event occurred that became the catalyst for creating this painting.
I had always painted for myself, but in my early forties, after leaving my job at a funeral home and beginning to teach mandala workshops, I visited the local shrine one day to pay my respects.
(I plan to start teaching mandala workshops soon,
but honestly, I'm not good at expressing my feelings,
and I'm not good at explaining things well with words either.
I don't know if I'll be okay.
I don't have confidence either,
but I've decided to do it, so please support me.)
I clasped my hands together and prayed.
When I suddenly opened my eyes,
a shuriken made of light flew zigzagging toward me
from the closed doors of the worship hall...
With hands pressed together in prayer,
I suddenly opened my eyes.
From the closed doors of the worship hall,
a shuriken made of light flew in a zigzag path
and plunged right into my forehead!
In that instant,
an indescribable, overwhelming energy
rushed through my entire body.
A design I had never drawn before,
yet felt compelled to draw,
floated into my mind.
I hurried home and immediately drew this picture.
This is that design.
Six years have passed since then.
It remained untitled all this time,
but when I made it into a postcard for my solo exhibition, 'The Room of the Universe and Mandalas 2,'
I finally gave it a title.
We experience our physical bodies as temples where our spirits find temporary rest for a certain period. After a mere fleeting moment of this earthly life, we return as energy to the vast cosmos.
During this same period,
born into this land of Japan,
grateful for our connection,
thank you for reading these words.
May the energy born from the center of this vast universe
always return to your own center,
no matter what happens.
