As a shrine enshrined next to Okazaki Castle, it is a power spot with a legend: on the morning of Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu's birth, a golden dragon appeared atop the castle tower, summoning clouds and wind, and ascended to heaven. The Dragon Well is said to have sprung forth when the Dragon God appeared, and its water was poured upon the deity. It is believed to grant blessings for career advancement, good fortune, safe childbirth, and protection from misfortune. I visited during the peak of cherry blossom season. The original painting, depicting a golden Happiness Dragon, was solemnly dedicated in the main hall alongside the priest's ritual prayers, amidst much joy.
